Going backwards...Turkey Trot 2007

This is the last stretch of the Turkey Trot 5k, Thanksgiving Day, 2007. A sucessful end to the Grand Prix season. I surprised Andrew Primrose, who'd led from the gun, on the last turn of the track, and ended up a few seconds ahead. Hangin' with Larry and Hannah afterwards...and the result of what happens when you give a baby her very own pumpkin pie! Thanks to Abby for takin' all the pics.

November training run

If being chased by a crazed toddler isn't great training, then I don't know what is!

Sacramento Cowtown Marathon

Me and the old cow. And my wife!!! This was my first marathon since the Vegas debacle when I was an 18 year-old 800 meter runner. I ran the first 10 miles pacing Kevin, but after walking for a few minutes just before and after the halfway mark, I decided to pick up the pace and ended up running the second half several minutes faster than the first-3:04 for the whole thing, and I was able to resume training right away. Great, well organized race. Hopefully, I'll be back with a sub 2:40 sometime in the near future...

Draft Horse Classic 2007

Larry's boy, Max, after kicking butt in the kid's race...and the rather wet start of the 5 & 10k, right before I briefly went the wrong way-just to prove it could be done!

Haulin Aspen Trail half & full marathons

Fought a cramp for about 10 miles, hung on (barely) for 3rd overall. I'll be back. This course was awesome, and so is the beer at Deschutes Brewery in Bend, OR!!!

Tahoe Rim Trail 50k

This is the pic from the finish of my first (and so far , only) ultramarathon, the 2007 Tahoe Rim Trail 50k. I trained for this race hard in 2008 to try and improve from 15th to between 1st and 3rd, but alas, i never made it to the start. Torn Achillies and all... Even though I was drastically underprepared for this one, it ended being my favorite race of 2007. Beer at the finish line will have that effect!

First Annual Habitat for Humanity Half Marathon

Post race, trying to freak out my then 6 month-old Hannah. Awesome trail, crappy race. Needless to say, there was never a "second annual".
